About Me

I’m Kathy (she/her), a neurodivergent, humanistic counsellor based in Huddersfield. I work primarily from a person-centred approach, which means I believe you are the expert in your own life. My sessions offer a warm, accepting space where your thoughts and feelings are welcomed - no advice, no judgement.  My goal is to foster trust and understanding so we can explore the difficulties you are experiencing and find a way forward together.

Neurodivergence & My Practice

As a neurodivergent (AuDHD) therapist myself, I have insight into both the challenges and strengths that can come with being autistic or ADHD. This lived experience helps me connect with you in a genuine way, and to adapt therapy to your specific needs.

I am passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals and couples to navigate life in a world that can feel as though it is built for neurotypical expectations. My aim is to offer an affirming, accepting space where you do not have to mask or and can be your authentic self.

My Background

Alongside my private practice, I have worked as a counsellor in voluntary sector organisations including mental health charities, a hospice and women’s centres.

Before training as a therapist, I worked for 15 years, as a service development manager in voluntary sector mental health organisations, developing and delivering programmes designed to empower and support people to flourish. I bring professional insight and compassion to my work, grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity to flourish.
